Chain lubrication : In order to improve the operating life and maximize
efficiency of chains,
it is most important to keep its lubrication proper and effective.
Chain oiler Felt inserts or pads are excellent for chain lubrication
(used in motorcycles, bicycles, and conveyor machinery) because they
absorb oil lubricant and apply it thin and evenly across the moving
chain via capillary action, preventing excess dripping or high-speed
flinging. As the chain moves in sprocket there is relative movement between
the pin and surface of bush which causes wear and tear at points,
elongation and making noise, thus reducing its life span, to prevent premature wear
and tear and corrosion in
chain continuous and uniform oil lubrication is necessary. Our Chain Oilier felt is
dipped and soaked in oil , acts as a oil reservoir and provides
uniform lubrication when chain passed over it.
Regular and correct lubrication helps to prevent chain failure by
providing protection against rust and corrosion. Rusting allows pits
to form, causing stress concentration points which can result in
premature chain failure, even at reduced loads.
Our chain oiler felt automatically functions at uniform rates
to prevent over- and under-lubrication.
Material Choice: Selecting the Right Felt. Not all felt is created
equal. For a mechanical oiler, standard craft felt will disintegrate
quickly.
Material: Use 100% Compressed Wool Felt
Our Wool felt wick holds oil exceptionally well, resists abrasion,
and retains its structure when saturated.
Thickness: Typically 1/4 inch (6 mm) or 3/8 inch (10 mm) works best
for small roller chains. Medium or Big chains require 15 mm to 25 mm
( 1 inch ).

The "Wick" Method System (Gravity/Capillary Feed)
This method drops oil onto a felt block that lightly rides against
the chain links.
The Housing: Take a small plastic/aluminum block that mounts near
the rear sprocket or chain guard.
The Felt Placement: Cut the felt into a small rectangular prism.
Ensure one end touches the chain rollers or side plates, and the
upper end is tucked inside the housing.
The Feed: Route your oil delivery tube directly to the top of the
chain oiler felt block. The wool felt will act as a buffer, soaking
up the drips and distributing them smoothly without letting the oil
fly off.
The "Dual-Sandwich" Guide (Continuous Wipe system)
This method pinches the chain between two chain oiler felt pads for
total coverage.
The Design: Create a U-shaped bracket that straddles the chain.
The Chain oiler felt Pads: Line both internal walls of the "U" with
chain oiler felt pads.
The Feed: Oil is fed into the bracket, saturating both chain oiler
felt. As the chain passes through, both the inner and outer links
are swept and lubricated continuously.
